Elyse and I went on a trip to rural England to visit her college friends for a week and so I used that as an excuse to finally buy a Nintendo Switch OLED. I haven’t owned a Nintendo system since the very original NES so I have a lot of Mario to catch up on.
Between a bunch of time leading up to the trip and a long international flight there and back I was able to finish Super Mario Bros U Deluxe including 100% (5 stars) on the save file:
- First Star: Defeat the final boss, Bowser, in World 8 (Peach’s Castle).
- Second Star: Complete every normal and secret level across the main 8 worlds (excluding Superstar Road).
- Third Star: Collect every Star Coin hidden in worlds 1 through 8.
- Fourth Star: Unlock and complete levels 1 through 8 of Superstar Road, which unlocks the final secret level (level 9) of that world.
- Fifth Star: Collect all Star Coins in Superstar Road level 9, find every single flagpole exit (all 82 normal exits and 12 secret exits for 94 total flagpoles), and catch Nabbit at least once in each of the first 7 worlds
