Hidden Chord Show

What a night Chris and I had last night. So we decided, since Kris and Erin were working, that we would go see a local band “The Hidden Chord”. They were playing at this place called the “Fireball Cafe” kinda near St. Paul. The two opening bands looked pretty bad so we didn’t actually leave until 8:30 or so. This is where the adventure begins. We get on the bus and take it due east to catch another bus that goes north. We get off the first bus and look at the schedule and realize the next bus is not coming for another 40 min or so. This lady overhears us talking about where we need to go and suggests that we walk, saying “It’s walking distance”. I checked today, it was 2.5 miles away. So after an hour walk or so we get to the corner where the cafe is suppose to be. Unfortunately it’s no where to be found. I go into a local gas station to ask where it is, guy has no clue. So we go next door to a really nice italian restraurant. Everyone’s wearing suits and stuff and we ask the hostess lady (who was checking Polley out) where it is. She doesn’t know, so she goes to ask her managaer. No luck there, so she busts out a phone book. The place is not even listed in the phone book! So we’re thinking this place doesn’t even exist. We call Kris, and luckily he finds the address on the internet and shortly after we find the place. We can see the band setting up through the window and get all excited. The front door is locked however, with a sign that says ‘entrance in back’ We go around back where there is a spray-painted graffiti sign that says ‘entrance here’. We pay our five bucks, get our hands x’d and we’re in! We thought we were just catching the end of the set since we were so late. We were really happy to hear that there was another band coming up. We really didn’t know what “the hidden chord” looked like, so we figured they were up next. Five people from the audience begin setting up their instruements. Totally normal looking people, that had been watching the show with us. When they get everything set up they go back stage and come back 5 min later all dressed up. One band member was sporting a fake mustache and a bald cap. Another one had a silver jump suit, aviator glasses, and a long black haired wig. Yet another had a space helmet with a space-ray gun in hand. Needless to say, we were EXTREMELY confused. The silver jump suit guy and the helmet/ray-gun guy are both lead singers and take their microphones down into the audience to sing. The first song comes on and they begin moshing and screaming words that we couldn’t understand. The guitarists eye’s rolled back in his head, scaring us even further. After the first song, we look at the poster for ‘the hidden chord’ and notice that the date had been changed to saturday night not friday night. We left. Laughing all the way back to the bus stop, we had fun with the whole situation. We got on the bus, not quite sure if it was the right bus. The bus puts its right blinker on, and we think it’s turning when we need to go straight so we get off. It goes straight. So we just got off the bus we need to be on. Next bus is coming in another 30 min and its the last bus to run that night. So we decide to once again walk to where we need to pick up the bus. 2.5 miles and an hour later we get there and finally come back to campus concluding our adventure for the night. Death metal rocks!
